Grey Day

I will be selling at The Quilters Guild A.G.M. in March, which is in Swansea this year, just along the coast from where I live.
Last night it suddenly dawned on me that time is ticking away and I need to get painting and painting if I want to have enough stock. They look a bit dull but these colours always sell well as they are good for rocks etc.
Painting in this colour reminded be where my love of painting my own fabric began.
Below is one of my C&G pieces, which took the cliffs and rock strata of the coast here as my inspiration.

I am going to be doing a lot of painting over the next few weeks and I will try and blog often and show you how I do what I do, in case you fancy having a go yourself.
Lovely Deb, I have seen this piece in the flesh girls and it is so beautiful, so subtle, and the word quality comes to mind.
ReplyDeleteI thank Carol for sending me here to see your magnificent quilt. The rocks as part of the header for hanging the quilt as well those strung to the bottom are awesome.
ReplyDeleteSent here by Carol of Taylors Textile Trials. This is a gorgeous piece. Love the soft sea colors! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your fabrics and your work and this piece is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading my blog, and pleased to find yours. This is a lovely subtle piece.
ReplyDeleteThis quilt piece is wonderful (just as Carol had promised!). I, too, love the additional rocks along the top and dangling from the bottom.
ReplyDeleteAnd your hand-painted fabrics look great too. I will have to try painting my own too, some day ....
