Working Wednesday

Beautiful weather here at the moment so I have photographed my quilt top billowing in the breeze.

I have stitched together all the blocks and now need to add a border.

I have screened out the pic with my laundry basket full of washing in the background.

Yesterday evening we witnessed the most amazing display of swallows. They were in their hundreds, flying around our house. I have only ever seen a handful at any one time before so this was a real treat.

My camera is not good enough to capture the hundreds flying around but I am thrilled with my shots of these birds on the wire.

No zoom used. I was this close!

Can only assume they were gathering to fly South for the Winter.

  1. Your swallows are geting ready to leave. We have 7 nests of house martins this year and I know they will leave soon too. It always makes me a little sad, I like to listen to them "talking" to each other in the nest by our bedroom window in the evenings. What a long journey they have to make, and how many will manage to return next year?
I like the colour combination of your quilt, I look forward to seeing it finished.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. I do try to respond to each one but
if you do not hear from me it is probably because you are a "no reply blogger".
