February Journal Quilt

NOTE TO SELF:
Remember the size requirements for these Journal Quilts (8 x 8 in), so that you don't have to chop off a load of stitching :'D

I am happier with this one, more delineated areas, not such a hot mess of stitching

Plus I managed to not smother everything in stitch. After all what is the point in painting/printing a nice background if you are going to cover it all.

Mmm. I am going to try and get straight into the next one for March as I am busy next month.
I am enjoying doing this, but fretting about keeping it up for 10 more abstract pieces!

  1. Oh man, I am loving these contemporary abstracts you are doing…and yes, you struck the perfect balance this time, I think. I love the earthy feel of this one. It's just fantastic! ps. you really need to submit this series to Art Quilting Studio - they would be perfect.

  2. I like how you added just enough stitching to add dimension to the piece but let the fabrics speak for the piece, as well.

  4. As long as it's too big, it will be ok; too small is worse.)
I love your little quilt. Those beautiful rich colours are just what we need on a grey February day!

Thank you for taking the time to comment. I do try to respond to each one but
if you do not hear from me it is probably because you are a "no reply blogger".
