This is where it all started for me but times change and now all of my blogging takes place over at my
Quilt Routes blog and I hope you will join me over there.

I think...

...I might have overplayed the significance of this piece shown in my last post.
It is no more than an exploration of texture. From a design point of view it would need more work.
Thanks for the nice comments though. They are always appreciated.

Technique:
Bits of silk embellished onto acrylic felt.

Partly layered with voile.

Machine stitched, hand stitched and beaded.

stitching sunday

I am still plugging away at this, but needed a bit of a change.
Last Saturday I was "on the bill", so to speak, with Angie Hughes, at a Quilt Guild Regional Day
I have always loved her work and it was a treat to see the things she is working on now.
I have done two workshops with Angie in the past, and they rate among the best I have ever taken.

Angie is a machine embroiderer who has done a lot of work on velvet.
Channeling my inner Angie, I am working on black felt, just for fun and thoroughly enjoying myself.

Moving on.

There has been a lot to do lately but I am now finding some time to work on these, started a couple of weeks ago.
The fabric has been painted...

...and layers of texture added...

Later today I am hoping to beginning the stitching.
I hope you have a creative weekend.
Linking up with Off the Wall Friday.
