House Swap Textile Challenge No2

I am way overdue with my next swap in the Textile Challenge group. This house is for Mariel in Argentina. Her theme is Ethnic Houses so I have done her a stilt house based on the ones found in Kampong Ayer, Brunei. This translates as water village, where all the houses really do stand in the water and the people who live there get around by walk ways and boat. If you would like to see some of these houses click on this link. Scroll down the page to see pictures of the water village.
I chose to do this as I lived in Brunei for several years as a teacher. I have lots of fond memories as its where I met and married my husband. My daughter spent the first three years of her life there.
I have always wanted to do something based on my time there, and I know this might sound daft but every time I thought about it I found it too emotional. But now after a gap of over 10 years I can look at photos and books without getting a lump in my throat. I know that there are many of you out there who know how easy it is for woman of a certain age to get emotional over the slightest thing. If you don't then you are just way too young.
Anyway, expect more stuff with a South East Asian theme, and while I am on the subject take a look at the wonderful work that Anne who lives in Brunei does

Thank you for taking the time to comment. I do try to respond to each one but
if you do not hear from me it is probably because you are a "no reply blogger".
