Note to self...

When you start a series of new work, think about how you are going to display the pieces so that they lay flat when hung.

Think about the wisdom of making long thin pieces, for the same reason as given above.

Decide on a uniform way of depicting the birds: soft and dreamy or strong and precise, not both.

Know that there are different shades of grey, and that you have enough of the one you begin with, to finish all. Plus choose the quick and easy computerised stitch that you have used in the past and not the free motion stitch that takes an age to complete, resulting in boredom, resulting in not finishing!

Perhaps if I had thought about these things back in October when I began these, they would have been finished a lot sooner!
Not to worry, a lot was learnt and fun was had!

  3. I don't think mine hang straight of the borders are straight, no matter how I try to cut perfectly, they are always crooked. Then I sew too tight and that does keep them from hanging straight, but I have fun making them, so that is all that matters;)

  6. these are really lovely - have you tried soaking them and then ironing them flat? It's worked in the past for me - for example with the piece I'm showing this week which was curled like an orange peel by the time I was done quilting it!

  10. They are wonderful! What are the dimensions? The stitch close up suggests small and detailed!

Thank you for taking the time to comment. I do try to respond to each one but
if you do not hear from me it is probably because you are a "no reply blogger".
